T-Ball

Adam and Tyler started T-ball today! It is a summer skills course that is two days a week and lasts for an hour. It was a huge success. It is just perfect for them. It teaches all the basic skills that little boys their age need to know. I laughed so hard when the very patient coach started with, "okay, so let's start with you put your mitt on the OTHER hand". :) It was hilarious to watch. The boys had a blast.

It was also my first day to get 4 children out of the house by a certain time. It went very well for two reasons. 1). my mom was here to help me! 2). the boys were up and dressed at 6:30 am and "ready for T-ball". :)

Gracie got rather bored with it all, sitting and watching for an hour. I simply explained to the little darling that she had 3 brothers and she'd better just get used to watching sports! :)

day 1 update: well i am blogging, what's that tell you? it's going fantastically so far!! :)

things I'd forgotten about having a newborn:

how baby boys pee on you during diaper changes...grace was SO disgusted it was hilarious
how much they sleep...(or don't at night)
how very very precious they are :)

Max's First Week

We had the most wonderful first week with Max. Justin had the entire week off and with Max being born on a Friday, that gave us two weekends plus the weekdays. It was 10 awesome days! We had our fair share of company, which is always so much fun. I love to show off my new baby. Then we had a quieter week just being a family at home. Sleeping in...kinda, staying in my jammies until 10am...having help with the kids and housework. I am telling you, it was divine. Monday, sniff sniff my dear husband returns to work. Can you believe that? The nerve. I have my first day flying solo with all 4 on Monday. I am feeling up to it. I feel really really good. My energy is back for the most part and I feel pretty much recovered from the delivery. The lack of sleep has taken a little bit of a toll on me, but that is to be expected. Max was up a lot the first 3 nights. Add that to the night before being up in labor(and not knowing it) and I had pretty much 4 sleepless nights in a row. He is now going 3 hour stretches which feels much more doable! He is a sleepy baby still. I have to wake him for a lot of feedings during the day still. Max had his first doctor appt on wednesday. He was once ounce shy of his birthweight. The kids have adjusted wonderfully so far. Of course things might change once it's only my attention they are all fighting for:) Next week will be the true test. For now I will just cherish the wonderful first week we had a home as a family of 6! :)

I went into labor on my own as I was hoping and everything went very smoothly with the labor and the delivery. I am proud to say I had a wonderful natural, uninduced, unmedicated birth!!!! Mom and baby are both doing excellent!

School's Out!

I am pretty sure it was just yesterday that I was taking Adam to his first day of Kindergarten and Tyler to his first day of Pre school. Today, they are both done for the summer. sniff sniff. I am so sad to see the year end. They both had the most fabulous teachers and the greatest experiences. I love our school. I mean I really love our school. The teachers, principal, other parents...it's all the best. I will miss everyone so much over the summer.


Tyler has actually been done since May 28th. He had his field day on the last day and had a blast. Hockey was his favorite part. He had a great first year of Pre school and asked when he gets to go back. He will have the same teacher again next year but he will go 5 days a week instead of 3. I got only very positive reports on Tyler and he never got one time out at school...which he and I were both very proud of.




Adam is done with kindergarten. I am so sad about this. He had the best experience in kindergarten that a parent could ever ask for. He was excited to go everyday and I can't speak highly enough about his teacher. He had his awards ceremony today and earned the Christian Citizenship Award, Academic All-Star Award and the Physical Fitness Award. Talk about a proud mom! :)



Miss Grace will have to adjust now to having both of the boys home all day. Oh yea, that and becoming a big sister any moment now. She is very excited although she has no clue what's coming except a baby. She keeps saying adorable things like "when baby come out?" "come out baby!" "I want to hold baby". I am sure she will a very big help, probably too much help! She is trying to be done with naps but I refuse to give in on that one! With all this change coming, she will be needing that nap and so will I.



I guess that leaves me and my big overdue self to report on! Here I am 41 weeks today and yes I am still smiling:) We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this baby. Shouldn't be too much longer now!
