First Day of School!

The boys both had a great first day of school! :)
Tyler RAN to his preschool room yelling "bye Mom and Dad" as he went.
Adam was more tentative but did great once he found his room and desk. He had a great first day and was excited to go again today. first grade feels BIG. Reading over the classroom rules and procedures...first grade is much more independence and they will certainly be holding them to a higher standard than kindergarten. It will be great for him, I know he is up to the challenge. It's exciting!

Tyler REALLY excited for preschool

Grace looking adorable and wanting her picture taken too...no problem!

all ready for FIRST GRADE!

Random update

Well since we got home from Seaside we have dealt with Grace getting the same flu bug that Tyler had. That was a LONG week. Throw the piles of laundry and unpacking in with a sick toddler and oh yea 3 others to take care of and you get one tired mommy by the end of the week. The weekend was just as busy with a pool party each day. This week things have slowed down. Swimming lessons wrap up this week and I have seen HUGE progress once again this year. Adam is going to pass level 3 which means he can jump into the deep end, crawl stroke to the center of the pool, tread water for I think it's a minute then back stroke the shallow end. This is the kid who was afraid to put his face in the water at the beginning of last summer. Unbelievable! Tyler is swimming! He can crawl stroke all the way across the shallow end, swim under water and today he back floated and kicked the entire way across the shallow end. Again, like his brother he was afraid to dunk under just 3 short weeks ago. Fun times!! Grace has been acting her age of 2. She is adorable and funny but also a bit too ornery at times. She is learning her colors and the other day when I held up the color white and asked what color it was she called out "vanilla!". that's my girl:) If you ever cross paths with her you will collide, she runs everywhere she goes. we collide daily.Max is getting very strong. Holding his head up well. Sleeping decently most nights and most days he's pretty predictable and content. He is very very smiley and I love it! His 2 month stats are 13 lbs 5 oz, 24 inches long.
One more funny kid story. Tyler was in a time out the other day and as I was walking back from putting him into our timeout corner Max spit up all over me and then grinned hugely at me. I said to Max,"oh you think it's funny to spit up all over mommmy do you?" and Tyler came over to me and said "mom, you are so funny I just laughed myself out of the corner!". I said, "ha ha, laugh yourself right back!".

Seaside 2010

who says you can't take an 8 week old to the beach! Max liked the beach very much!

Who is that HOT Dad of 4?

the house we rented was well equipped for kids. tons of games and puzzles.

ready for the beach. the sun came out for about 15 mins, the kids threw on their swim suits and by the time we got out to the beach the sun was gone.

so we put on coats and out we went! :)
we caravaned with my parents and brother. So for most of the ride it was my dad and brother in one car and Justin, mom and I and kids in our van. the running joke was whoever rode with dad and alex fell asleep...so when we wanted a kid to nap we sent them to my parents car. I told my brother it was because he is boring, he thought it was because he provided a nurturing, peaceful, secure environment...yea whatever.

go cougs. it was weird putting max in such warm stuff...you forget how cold it is at the coast.

loving the carousel

and of coures the tradition of stopping at multanomah for an ice cream cone!

Okay, so here's how the trip REALLY went with 4 small kids:)
Tuesday at midnight Tyler threw up...and we are supposed to leave in like 6 hours. He seeemed fine right afterwards to we went. He really was fine until Thursday when he broke out into a hive like rash over his hands and feet. A quick trip to rite aide for some bendadryl and he was good. On the trip home Grace started to get sick...Max was fussy and basically it took us ALL day to get home.
Other than THAT it really was very fun and a huge success. Max rode over like a champ and slept wonderfully. The kids all played really well and had a blast.
