Happy 6th Birthday Adam!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Adam! he is the big 6 today. He had a GREAT day! He started his day with his family singing him Happy Birthday over breakfast which was a hearty bowl of Lucky Charms. (I copied my friend Sara on this one and let him pick out his cereal of choice at the store for his birthday...everyone knows I don't usually buy "sugar cereal"). He received two birthday phone calls first thing this morning, which he loved. Thank you Grandma and Auntie. He brought awesome german chocolate cupcakes to school that we wrote 100 on top of each one. Why? you might ask. Well they make a big deal in his class about counting the number of days of school. Every time they hit a number ending in zero a dude called Zero the Hero visits and gives them a zero shaped treat (lifesaver, donut etc). Well today of all days was the 100th day and that was a huge deal. So not only did they celebrate his birthday but the 100th day of being smarter! :) At school he got to be in the front of the line all day and was wished many many happy birthday's there as well. He came home with a crown, stickers, all kinds of fun stuff. His teacher did an awesome job of making it a special day for him. It was a noon release day so I picked him up at noon and we headed to a fun pizza place with lots of games for kids. Picture Chuck E. Cheeses downscaled by 5...it was perfect! We met friends there and had the place to ourselves, it was awesome. After Justin got home from work Adam and I went on a special date to go shoe shopping. That was his birthday wish! You might think this sounds funny(and a bit girlish), I did too at first until I figured out WHY he wanted new shoes. We had to find the FASTEST pair of shoes in the store. He tried on every pair and ran sprints in them until he found the perfect pair. This had NOTHING to do with fashion let me tell ya! He was then taken to dinner and ice cream and on the way home from that he said, "this has been the greatest day EVER!". mission accomplished! :) Happy Birthday to our awesome, sweet, studly not so little any more Adam:)

Grace's Latest Interest

Paper of all things. Not just any paper but small pieces of paper in particular. I am talking like receipt size. It will keep her busy for a good 20 mins, folding, unfolding, crumpling. It's quite hilarious. I just find things like this funny and again ask myself...why do we waste money on toys!

Yes, she always looks this serious while working with her piece of paper!

usually her tongue is out too. I think the funniest part about it to me is that she will just stand still in the middle of the room the entire time and well she just doesn't stay still very often!

This is her mad face...still working with her piece of paper.

Her happy face...again still playing with the paper.

Her and her handsome brother...and the piece of paper! :)
