Laughter IS the Best Medicine

Just a few little things that have made me chuckle recently! I hope they make you chuckle too.

When I pick up Adam from Pre School today 3 little girls run up to him and say, "Byeeeee Adam Baerlocher!!!". Now come on Baerlocher HAS to be the hardest name in the class, yet they all call him Adam Baerlocher all the time...it's adorable! Oh yea, and Adam's little friend Zoe, calls him coconut...watch out Aubrey, you may have some competition!

At dinner last night, Tyler gets up from the dinner table pulls down his pants, walks over to Justin and says, "look dad I have a crack in my butt". I am NOT kidding. Seriously, how do you not laugh at that? We are doing REALLY well on teaching him manners! Want to come to our house for dinner?

Gracie now attempts to tell knock knock jokes. no joke. she says, "knock, knock" in her adorable 1 year old way and who can resist but to say "who's there" and she blabbles on like she finishing the joke. it's just plain adorable. The best part is her sweet brother tyler will always play along, he'll even answer in her babble talk, its precious.

Today while putting a puzzle together my serious son Adam says to Tyler, I just can't stand the sound of SOMEONE's nose and I am talking about YOU Tyler, your nose is NOT a horn. (to tyler's defense he does have a stuffy nose) Tyler responds, "oh, well I think it sounds like a horn and I do feel like a car today!". Adam, "well I am just sick of hearing your horn nose". Tyler, "well I am car today so too bad, honk, honk, honk, honk, honk, Adam do you like my honk? I am a car, honk, honk, hooonnnk." At this point I am giggling to myslef and serious Adam says, "I just don't think this is funny at all!". Brotherly love! :)

Tyler is doing really great riding his trike these days...for the most part! He hasn't at all figured out how to stop. Kind of scary. His solution is what cracks me up. Instead of you know trying to brake or heck even putting his feet down, instead he aims right for the curb going at full speed and crashes into and says, "whoa, that was fun!". Seriously! This kid is hilarious...and a bit dangerous!

Leavenworth!

Oh what a glorious weekend we had! We snuck away to Leavenworth for a couples weekend with our dearest friends Greg and Sara Jones. You see we have quite a lot in common with this studly couple, I won't bore you with the long list but the most recent one is 3 small children about the same ages. 3 kids in 4 years is a lot of fun, but a lot of work and Sara and I decided we deserved a little vacation. We planned this trip a very long time ago and anticipated it for months! Well, it was well worth the wait and it will most definitely become at least an annual event! We had such a great time. No rushing, no kids schedules to work around, sleeping in, hot tubbing, eating, drinking, being merry...you get the idea. It was just lots and lots of fun. It was the first time we had left all 3 kids over night and it sounds like they did awesome. Thank you Grandma Chrissy and Grandpa Marty! I know they are a lot of work but we even came home to clean laundry and a full home cooked meal. Seriously it doesn't get much better than that! I feel so refreshed from the weekend, not energy wise because we didn't get all that much sleep but patience wise. I can really see how breaks away from the kids is healthy. We were so happy to see them! Thanks to Greg and Sara I can't tell you how much fun we had! Here's to the next trip and many many more!

Just Another Day in Paradise

Below is a picture of my sad sad attempt to put a clip in Gracie's hair. It didn't last long at all. She pulled it out and went and threw it into the garbage! I guess we know where she stands on THAT. Gracie has been keeping me oh so busy! She is quite a climber and a runner. I am not exaggerating when I say she attempts to climb the kitchen table 50 times a day. She is in a very adorable stage. She loves to entertain us and she is very much holding her own with her older brothers. She knows how to hit hard and steal a toy and squeal like it was taken from her. She says adorable things like "peez" (please) and "Ada" (Adam) and "owsh" (ouch). Got to love our Gracie girl!



Mr. Tyler makes so much progress every day. Don't get me wrong, he's still an adventurous little guy who LOVES to get dirty, but he really does have his shining moments. I am impressed by his patience with his sister! With Adam at school every morning, he and Grace have become good friends. She is at an annoying stage to him, she wrecks whatever he builds and he handles is amazingly well. He is the greatest puzzle putter together er I know, yesterday he did an 84 piece by himself! He loves to be read to and that works out quite well because I love to read to him! :) I just have to remember to let him be a 3 year old boy and get dirty...because man that is what he LOVES to do!
What a smile...he will be a heart breaker for sure.

Mr. Adam is thriving at school. He LOVES it, has made so many friends and they are apparently pulling out Kindergarten curriculum for him to keep him challenged. He got wonderful comments on his report card, he scored the highest in manners and listening, which I was very proud of! :) We miss having him around in the morning, but it has been good for all of us. It is nice to see Adam come out of his shell at school and to have adjusted socially. I can't believe in August he'll start Kindergarten and be gone ALL DAY!. Sigh...I guess I'll cross that bridge when we get there! I had no idea these kids grew up so fast. I often ask myself...how can some days be SO long, yet these years just fly by???
