More sickness, more updates!

My house has been struck once again by illness. Poor little Grace threw up for 14 hours yesterday. I counted 20 times, yes 20. Poor little pale thing. It was to say the least a very long day. Of course of all the days Justin has an evening meeting and didn't get home until 10:45pm! I was proud of myself that I didn't cry until the very last time I got thrown up on, time #20...it was 9pm, I had just finished battling getting the boys to bed and I had my pajamas on and was just quickly calling my mom to give her an update when Grace decided to throw up all over me. (side note, I had fed her earlier because she was acting better and hungry, big mistake). So, I put up both into the shower and then felt much better. Today is going remarkable better. Grace is fine, keeping everything down and acting back to her normal self. Tyler vomited once this morning and that has been it so far. We'll just see what the rest of the day brings!

A quick update on our never ending battle to get Grace to stay in her bed. It is going well! I bought a baby gate that is bigger than the one we had and it is all plastic so she can't climb it. We have had great success with it so far. Just now I put her down for her nap. She immediately got up and came out so I put the gate up and she gave up right away. Went right to her bed, laid down and is already asleep! I am gitty about it. no more hour long nap time games! at least for now, until she figures this thing out and changes on us. You know, that's a big thing I've learned through motherhood, just when you think you have something figured out...it changes! :)

I think that's all the updates for today! Stay tuned.

Valentine's

Adam and I made the most adorable Valentine's this morning!! I saw them in Family Fun magazine and thought they were so cool. Turns out they were super easy to make and cheap I might add. I already had the paper, so they only cost me $3 for the pencils and googly eyes...which we ended up running out of, so some have googly eyes and some have homemade eyes. They are owls perched on a branch (pencil) I love that Adam made them almost entirely by himself and I love that are a little bit boyish for being a Valentine. We had fun!

Aren't they awesome?!?
They said 3 different things; I'll OWL-ways be your friend, You're a hoot!, You're OWL-right.

We also made Tyler some...although he was far less interested, so Adam helped me finish Tyler's :)I think these turned out pretty cute as well. again cheap...already had the paper just $3 for the candy! :)

They said: You blow me away(bubble gum attached), You can count on me when things get sticky (sucker attached) and Have a ball this Valentine's Day (whopper attached).
$6 and about 2 hours and 50 homemade Valentines are done:):) That was a good morning! :)

Random Things

Since this blog is my "online diary" I need to write down our current happenings so I don't forget them! Hope you enjoy my random update.

Adam-just started accelerated reading program at school. I am very happy about this because while he is a fantastic reader(probably at about a 3rd grade level at this point) I am anxious to see them challenge him. This program will test his comprehension. After he reads a certain book he takes a test on it. He'll think it's fun to "play" on the computer and we will see how much he is actually comprehending. He did an egg drop competition at school last week. He paired up with another classmate and two 6th graders and they had to design something to protect a raw egg when it was dropped from the roof of the gym. They made a padded basket with a parachute attached. It was very fun to watch and his team's egg did NOT break. He was thrilled. He is turning 6 next month and wanting us to plan a Lego birthday party. I am excited for him. He is also learning to write math adding equations. He is very good at math and I think it is his favorite subject so far. However, he really dislikes writing his letters and numbers! It's funny. He seems less tired these days when I pick him up from all day at school, so that has been nice for all of us.

Tyler-is reading most any 3 letter word these days. He is enthusiastic about it and wants to read often. I love it. I find it interesting to see how he and Adam learned to read differently. Tyler certainly sounds each word out and can sound most any word out. Adam at this age did much more from memory but wasn't nearly as good at sounding stuff out. I took Tyler for his first bike ride on Monday with his new bike that Santa brought him. what an adventure. He is still learning some MAJOR basics like STEERING and BRAKING! Made for an interesting walk needless to say. He did not get hurt, but he did wreck at least 10 times and every time jumped right back on the bike. He ran into the following; a curb, a bench, a fence, Adam, Me, the stroller and the grass several times. It was actually very funny. I just cringed and talked him through it. By the end he really got the hang of it but he was too tired to ride the silly bike home. So I carried Adam's scooter and Adam rode Tyler's bike home...Adam earned $5 towards their Haiti fund by doing that for me...I was really ready to be home by that point:)Tyler is pretty much done with naps lately but stays in his room nicely for my strictly enforced "quiet time". He has really been enjoying pre school lately and I continue to get only the best of reports from his teachers.
Grace-is adorable and ornery and I have a hard time disciplining her! She jokes around too much and I am too much of a jokester not to laugh. I know, it's bad. She did something naughty the other day and got down close to her face to say something sternly to her and she smiled, raised her eyebrows and said "I bite your nose?". How do you not laugh at that? she is so random! Anyone who says girls and boys are not different is crazy. She is always changing her clothes, something my boys NEVER did and playing dolls is all she wants to do. She talks non stop about nothing in particular and most of the time it's very cute. She continues to get up at night and is still horrible to put to bed. NO idea what to do about that one and I am completely out of patience with it all. I would really like things to improve in this department before the new baby comes!
Baby-is kicking like crazy and I love it. My belly is currently the perfect size and I really wish it didn't have to get any bigger.

Adam's kindergarten class was on the news last night! They are doing a special project to collect money for the Haitians. It is a very cool little clip, go check it out!

Tyler's Christmas Program

Due to weather Tyler's Christmas program was canceled before Christmas and rescheduled to last week. Here are the pictures from it. I was highly impressed by it all. 27 3,4 and 5 year olds acted out the nativity, told the Christmas story and sang many many songs. There were plenty of great bloopers as expected and it was very entertaining. One girl narrated the entire thing and did a wonderful job. At one part she brought the microphone to another girl and said, "it's your turn to say your line" and the little girl just stood there staring at the floor shaking her head...it was hilarious.
Tyler played the role of a Sheppard during the nativity scene and then changed into Frosty the Snowman when they sang that song. He danced around the church and waved at everyone. It was VERY cute!

Is that not the cutest Frosty you have ever seen?

Tyler the Sheppard spotting us in the crowd and waving! :)

Afterwards I asked Tyler what he thought of the program and he told me he was "glad it was over because those hats were itchy!"

It's a...

Healthy Baby! :)
ha ha did I fool ya?
We had our ultrasound today and it was very uneventful. The baby looks healthy and happy and is measuring right as it should be. We could not see the face, we barely saw it's hands and feet. It was just hiding the entire time. What can I say, my children are modest...at least in utero! They said it was a good thing that we didn't want to know the gender because they would not have been able to even tell!!! So SEE we were not meant to know! :) It is a good thing this was our 4th baby and we have already had many many other ultrasounds because we were not able to see much with this one!
Sadly I don't even have a picture to post here. We need a scanner I guess.
Happy Friday!

Sick AGAIN~!

Would someone please tell me how many times I can possibly use that title for a blog. Well, darn it it's TRUE. My entire house is sick again and I can't even believe it! Every other week since school has started someone has been sick with something! This time it is some sort of stomach bug that comes with a fever. Lovely eh? Doesn't it just make you want to come over to my house? UGH. Go away winter germs!
