For Christmas my brother bought us and Adam tickets to the Cougar Basketball game since they played at Toyota center last night. It was SO much fun. We had really great seats and they won by a lot. It was great. Adam was a bit overwhelmed by it all at first but then got right into the game eating whatever he wanted and yelling in the blow horn they had also gotten him.
Afterwards, we all went out to dinner. Adam was in heaven. He said to me, "I think I wish we only had one kid all the time! Except we can keep the new baby, that one will be quiet right? and not follow me in my room when I want it quiet to read?" :)
After dinner we did a little Christmas shopping. It was a perfect evening with our sweet Adam.
Tyler and Grace didn't have it too badly either. They got to go spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. they were very happy to do that! :)
Date nights with your kids rock, I highly recommend it.
Onto a cool thing Adam brought home from school. Another confirmation of our choice of schools and another big kudos to Adam's awesome teacher...read on
I had heard a while back that Adam's class had written letters to Santa. Well, they have what they call 8th grade buddies who they are paired up with for the year that help them with various activities. This was one of them. Here is Adam's letter to Santa written with help by his 8th grade buddy.
Dear Santa,
What is it like at the North Pole? What are you doing there? How are you? How do you get in to houses with no chimneys? What do you do during the summer? What are the reindeer doing? Because I have been a good boy this year I would be very happy if you got me a transformer and video games. I helped my mom and dad out this year. thank you and fly safely Christmas eve this year. Love Adam Baerlocher
On to the BEST part, Santa replied!
Dear Adam,
I was so happy to receive your letter. I know you have been a good boy this year by helping your mom and dad, so I will try my best to get you that Transformer or the video games you want. I can't promise any thing though because I have been working harder this week than ever. Remember that Christmas is not about what you get, but what you GIVE.
The real meaning of Christmas is not about gifts, it is about the birth of Jesus, our savior. Christmas is about Jesus who is God becoming man to save us. He came here because he loves us. Jesus is the best gift of all that there is to give on Christmas. right now we need to prepare our hearts so we can receive the gift of Jesus on Christmas. It is still okay to give other gifts on Christmas, but remember to keep Christ in Christmas.
I have read all of your questions and I have the answers to them all. I am doing just fine and I have been checking the naughty and nice list twice. Just so you know you are on the nice list. (to which this Adam said, HA I told you mom!) The North Pole is a very cold place, but that keeps people from trying to live here where I work. To get into houses with out chimneys I use magic from all the children that believe in me to make a chimney appear. In the summer I take the elves that worked the hardest last year and Mrs. Claus on vacation while the other elves stay at the North Pole to work for the next Christmas. I am not the only one getting ready for Christmas, my reindeer are also getting ready to take off and carry my sleigh all over the world.
I am returning your letters to you so you can show your parents how many good questions you have and how much of a good boy you have been. I will be at your house Christmas Eve and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
Sincerely your friend,
Santa Claus

Awww! I LOVE date nights with the kids! It's so nice to spend one-on-one time with them! The Santa letters are precious =) Kaelen's hitting that stage where she's not too sure if he's really real....I'm finding out how sad it is when they hit this stage. Enjoy it!!!
